If you can put the money together, I would just go ahead and do it. If you are anywhere near as **** as I am about your ride (and I believe you are), it is going to be constantly on your mind, and a distraction to you. You will probably stress less over the 250 spent, than the stress you will endure driving a car with wooden door pulls. It has to be driving you crazy. Good luck.
