I had a 2007 Base Coupe with the same problem. I actually had it replaced under warranty shortly after I purchased the vehicle new in April 2008 (it has since been replaced with a SRT6

)

A good buddy of mine in Houston has a 2006 Base Coupe and it is also faded.

I do not believe it is limited to the year of the car...as it may be a post-2005 issue. Not sure though.
