There were wires behind the grill in that area. The temperature sensor is still working but not hooked to the grill. Didn't noticed it hooked to the grill when I took the grill out. I'm a jerk. Thought it was a piece of the grill which came off with the grill. Didn't know until I got to see a pic how it was behind the grill and sticking through. Ron
