Not always in stock and not always for a fair price. In my island they didn't have them and wanted a fortune for them. Heck, they wanted $60 for the camber bolts! But yes, he could have checked at the local MB dealer if he knew the part number. If he asked for a Crossfire spring pad they would have showed him the door. Not everyone knows how to work the MB parts system.
