Went to look at a 2007 Limited Roadster yesterday in Detroit. Car was rough, but salesman said he had a couple in the back that could still be for sale. Had a nice '07 Limited Roadster with low miles. Told the salesman I'd be back with the wife (her car).
Because I live so far away I didn't make it back last night but I did send an email offer on the car. (Thanks to Harbor, Doc and the others who posted on this thread with advice.) Didn't hear back from the salesman so I called and the salesman said: 1. He didn't get the email; 2. After I went through it with him on the phone, the offer was too low and he wouldn't present it. So I asked him to ask the sales manager for his absolute bottom line. Salesman calls me back after a couple of hours and says the car is headed for the auction at the end of the week. Is this how business is done in Detroit? Strangest thing I've ever seen.
The search continues.
