Default Re: Rosetta Stone

I have actually used Rosetta Stone on a couple instances. With the business I'm in, languages are well needed. I originally just bought the last level for Spanish (level 5 I think) to use as a refresher to my spanish minor from university. It definitely helped a good bit, but obviously as many people here would say the hp/$ ratio wasn't as high because I already had a working knowledge of the Spanish language.

However, I have since bought Level 1-5 for Danish and have begun teaching myself that (my company's global headquarters is in Denmark). It definitely has a much higher hp/$ ratio and I have learned a good bit in the intial levels I have gone through.

My biggest advice would be to be consistent and persistent with it. Set a learning schedule and stick to it, not necessarily in how fast you progress, but rather how much time you block off to spend using Rosetta Stone. It helps stay focused tremedously. The other piece of advice is to not rush through the levels. Just because someone finishes every level of Rosetta stone does not automatically mean they will be fluent. So take your time, be thorough and it will happen.

I will be starting another language once I complete this one in the next six months. Probably Mandarin, which I have a feeling will take me quite some time to finish, and a good bit longer than Spanish or Danish will/did.

Spanish and French are both romantic languages so if you have any cobweb'd French language left, you should see the similarities once you begin Spanish.
