Re: Water Pump Gone Bad
Mine got killed when I threw a pulley and smashed the case.
NA and SRT ARE NOT THE SAME............
There are about 14 bolts to do and you need to pull the fan
1. Pull fan
2.Add sheet of cardboard to radiator for protection or hide the results later - your choice.
3. Photo the water pump and make a cardboard template using the new pump. Mark the outline and the holes.
4. Pull off the bolts and inset them in the cardboard template so that they are stored in ORDER.
5.Remove - clean - reinstall water pump.
6. Replace the bolts in their original position, there are different lengths and several hidden in the lower area.
Finish the install and thank me for the template idea at Carlisle.
Assumptions: You have done water pumps before, you have torx socket set, your patient.
Install all bolts b4 you tighten any and use torque wrench ( inch ounce style) to tighten them into the ALUMINUM block.
BLEED the air out twice times when your running. Did I remember to say get a photo of the layout, several??
Enjoy Woody
My time less than 2 hours with a stocked garage and xm radio for stress reduction. OH yeah reinstall and PLUG in the fan....
