People have gone different routes for fab: smaller battery and put a tank there or trunk mount. I chose to reroute a couple hoses and utilize space in front of the motor.
I'd say it definately helps as I've run 12.173 & 12.174 back to back passes at the dragstrip. For daily driving, it gives me an extra 1.1 gallons of fuid and the system is seperated from the engine coolant. At the track, I can fill it with ice for a VERY fast cooldown. I also have a switch that allows me to cycle the pump on with the car off.
I like your set up....that is something I am thinking about doing...
