My apologies to the forum for the breach of topicality.

Well, I guess that removes any doubt from my mind. You were there?
You saw the run? Perhaps you were the guy in the Porsche's passenger
seat? How can a reasonable person debate with you, when you make
stuff up out of whole cloth? You make a definitive statement on an event
you can't possibly have observed, and call another a liar while having
absolutely no evidence to back up your charge.

Let's see, straw man, ad hominem, ad nauseum, how many other logical
fallacies can you fall into?

You say you are here to pull this forum back to reality... yeah, right.
In reading through your many posts, I find not a smidgen of evidence
that you have any other intent than to be a wet blanket and a troll.
Your only purpose here seems to be to denigrate other posters and
attempt to start flame wars. If you have information to provide, please
do. If you can't do that without resorting to character assassination,
baseless accusations, or rancor then keep your mouth shut. It is better
to keep quiet and let people think you a fool, than it is to open your
mouth and prove it.

BTW, the Carrera S is listed on Porsche's web site as performing the
0-60mph run in 4.6 seconds. Road and Track clocked the SRT6 at 4.8
seconds performing the 0-60mph run. With only a 0.2 second difference,
a reasonable man would conclude that the driver becomes a key element
in determining which car will come off best. Other important elements
are when does each car hit it's top torque load and how wide the power
band is. And, although the Carrera S comes in at 355hp its lower torque
load and more narrow power band reduce it's acceleration rate.

Also, though I have made no statement as to what model of Porsche,
other than a Carrera S, was losing the challenge when we had to back
off (see SRT6 eats a Carrera S), I've done a little research (you should try
it Bullseye) and found the relevance of 996 or 997. Yes, it was the
newer body style, so I guess it was a 997. Too bad Bullseye, but your
icon did fall.
