The monitor functions off a variety of parameters.....rpms,temp,miles, time, etc. It even has a way to monitor the electrical resistance of the oil....which apparently changes with age/viscosity. As an example.....when I had about 1,000 miles left on the monitor...I took the oil & filter some place to have it changed....I was going to reset the FSS as soon as I got home....but by the time I got home the FSS had already reset itself (probably based upon the electrical resistance of the new oil) back to about 2500.....I then reset it to the std (starting point) 7000.
Chris, I think they can only 'reset' it, I do not think there is any way to set up a partial or change the increment IMO
