I have a good alternator(38k) I would have shipped to you for $105.
Sorry I was wrong (that's the second time in my life ) and Chuck is correct. The sliding clamping bushing is in the front not at the back as I had said. This bush needs to be pulled toward the front of the car so that the gap is a bit bigger than the width of the alternator that goes in it. When the bolt is tightened it clamps against the alternator.
Put a bit of penetrating oil on that round bushing in Chucks photo and pull it forward.
Chucks suggested method.
