This is an aluminum intercooler and when increasing flow especially the amount at hand internal ware becomes a problem.
There used to be a SRT owner on forum here that had a engineering degree in hydralics he may see this and reply.
But in the mean time I assure you internal ware is a real and serious byproduct of going to big...
