Need members to help friend w/XF problem
It's a fairly new car to them- what a stinky way to start:
"I live in Bridgewater Massachusetts, about 30 miles south of Boston toward Cape Cod. Here are the details of what happened. On Friday morning my wife and I decided to take a ride in our Crossfire convertible since it was really the first nice day weather wise. It was to be the first good convertible drive of the year, at least we thought! We stopped to do a little shopping in Plymouth, we parked the Crossfire with the top down, when we came out a couple of hours later I could not unlock the Crossfire with the remote this was around 2:00 PM. I unlocked the door with the key and opened the door and the alarm went off. I tried to start it and it kept shutting down. Thinking it could be the batteries in the key fob my wife went and picked new batteries for the remote, it wasn’t the batteries! I called my local X-Chrysler Dealer that was only a couple miles away and they suggested using the second remote, the only problem it was home, they were curdiest enough to send their shuttle driver to drive me home to pick up the other remote. I picked up the remote and drove back to Plymouth in my PT Cruiser. The second remote still would not unlock it. I drove over to the X-Chrysler dealer and talked to a friend of mine in Parts, this was about 4:00 PM. After exhausting all ideas he could find on the computer, no one had any idea what would cause this problem, he sent a tow truck over to pick the Crossfire up and towed it back to the dealership. We didn’t’ get it to the dealership until 7:00 PM. The dealership called me Saturday morning to say the car was fixed and the problem was my key fob. They had reset the computer and when they went to start the Crossfire with my key the same problem occurred. They reset the computer again and tried my wife’s key and it was fine. I drove it home and it seemed okay but I am a little uneasy about taking it out since I didn’t feel comfortable with their answer."
