The first generation was shredding belts because of instal errors (I believe). It's real easy to be off a rib. As I understand it, the one you have grips the belt better than the rest but was changed because people were blaming the slots for eating the belt. Try it, watch for sighs of slipping and stay positive. You may have the best version without knowing it.
