Great discussion guys. Thanks for the input, I'll go ahead and get it anyways... I didn't realize the belt shredding was a user error problem and not a design problem.

32krazy, you mentioned getting a new bearing... What do you mean by this? The pulley is supposed to be like new, so I'm not sure why I'd need anything other than the shims...
