what im saying to you is your buying a used pulley. the previous owner doesnt what gen it is so it may used to him also. you dont really know how many miles are on the pulley. so invest 50$ and swap the bearing out while its off the car. now you have a pulley that will perform without any issues for a very long time. its not mandatory just preventative.
while you have this apart i would also suggest you have rob at needswings send you a c3 pulley saver kit. worth every penny and no more bad bearings to worry about
