It might be a good idea to put some plastic or rubber trim along those edges near hoses just to be sure you dont get any rubbing.... it will help sealing too....

I saw a Pontiac GP at the track a couple of weeks ago with a similar looking custom setup that was fed from the missing drivers headlight area..... good looking engine work and all.....unfortunately he was still running 15.x in the 1/4... I am sure you would do much better....
