Maintenance is a big part of the problem -- they ususally don't take care of the tanks, etc. and you get crap, water, etc.

And as a by-product of their volume, they sometimes run the tank down very low, so again you pick up the dirt etc.

We've had some cars with clogged or overheated cat's due to some of the impurities...........
