I can't hear it with the windows up and the radio on, but definitely hear it with the top down. I'm fairly certain it did not make the sound when stock. My car has 20k miles on it.

I did a search on "bad bearing" noises, and it sounds nothing like the "rocks rattling around" sound.
Bingo...this has to be the same sound I am hearing. I'm still thinking it might be the bearing, but I agree it sounds nothing like other "bad bearing" videos. I posted the videos above to possibly show where the sound is coming from...but...I can't really see the SC making that noise when spinning in one direction consistently.
