Yes, I'd be fuming mad if someone did this to my car but it sounds like it wasn't intentional and beating the heck out of him isn't going to fix the car. Now if someone took a baseball bat to my car, it would be a different story but that isn't the case here. Yeah, he's got some learning to do but bashing his face in isn't going to make things right.
