I'm no expert, but it sounds to me like the amp does not have power. Refer to the following thread and pay attention to the wiring tips in the first post. There are a few wires in the harness that do not follow the normal color splicing. I believe one of them (blue?) has to do with the amp. I used this post to install my Alpine and everything worked out fine.

UPDATE: Also look at posts #56 through #58 in this thread. These posts did apply to my install.....

I have the Scosche VW01B for a fact, the amp wouldn't power on apparently. But switching the pin over to the correct spot fixed it. The spot where the blue pin originally was is blank on the stock connector, so I moved it over to the spot to make the connection. My car is 2007 if that makes a difference. Very odd!!
