where the OP is looking, you aren't likely going to be able to negotiate a sub $10K price on a nice Crossfire with comparable mileage. $11K from a retail lot is probably about as low as you'll find. NoVa unemployment only 5%! Of course he could take a road trip and find a cheaper Crossfire and drive it home.

i just don't understand the mentality that anyone that pays more than the last guy has somehow overpaid for the car.
Compared to the rest of the country, Texas faired very well in the economy. D/FW has felt very little from the downturn. Yes, unemployment raised just like everywhere, but 8.8% is nothing compared to the rest of the country.

As far as the mentality of who paid what, with multiple examples on this forum of sub-$10k cars with less than 50k miles on them, I don't think the point can really be argued that paying 11k+ is a little high.
