No offense intended to my Asian brothers, but it's a well documented fact that the physical limitations of their peripheral vision is to blame. Depending on how squirrel-eyed you are, the average Caucasian has about 230 degrees of vision as opposed to 190 degrees for people of oriental descent. Makes a world of difference when piloting either a car OR a bicycle. And remember-they have only been able to buy a car in the last 10 years. Before that it was pump or walk. They are just not yet able to comprehend the mass/velocity/stopping distance thing.

Give them time. From a safe distance.
Not to be awkward but 230 degrees? That is not what a Google search said, 190 or so give or take.
As for Asians having less than other races I could find no corroboration for that either. May be it's an urban myth.

But with the right mirror settings on your car you can see 360 degrees no problem and you need to with all the nuts out there.
