Hi all,
I had a problem 18 months ago, travelling to work in the cold/fog, where after backing off to allow a truck which was ahead, to turn, pressed the Accelerator pedal and no response, had to pull over and restart the engine to regain accelerator control of the engine.
Rang the local Chrysler Dealership and spoke to the Service Manager, to see if some codes could be pulled from the computer, and he basically said if the Engine Management light was not up (which it wasn't), there would be no codes to retrieve. I believed him because he is an American!! ( Only Joking, he is a great guy, and the best service manager I have ever encountered). He must be a nice guy, cos he moved to Australia!!!
I thought it might be the battery, being an 04, so had it tested, but it came up fine in the test.
The problem never appeared again, until yesterday, when puling out into a main road with a centre median, had to back off, then when accelerating off, same thing, no throttle response from the engine, till I restarted the engine. The same climatic conditions, being fog, cold like 8deg C ( 46 deg F ).
I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same fault, I am guessing it may be the throttle position at the pedal maybe, but not sure.
The car is a 2004 Roadster, which was first registered in 2006, common here in OZ, as they didn't sell very well.
It still has the original battery, which I will replace soon, but it is still functioning perfectly.
The car also is due for its 60000km ( 37000 Miles) service soon, so will get the accelerator problem checked out, was just wanting some ammo when I book it in.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers
Terry
