well i bought my car about two months ago and heard the problem when I first got the car and thought it was sc, did not think much of it. so like a week ago my alternator went out and let tell you its a tight fit going in and out, but anyway after all back together and start it up and no more noise! and that might be the cause of the surging the other people are having, just my two cents, good look, oh bye the way you can get your alternator check out at almost any parts store, good luck
