Re: Stops Like Hell Packages
I went through the upgrade cycle. First time at the small go kart track all stock. I didn't have a problem at first. The second time out I boiled the fluid. I got the hint and put in ATE Blue and got some Porterfield R4S pads on all corners. Then I got the ***** to go to the high speed track. Unfortunately, or fortunately, they put in a chicaine to slow the cars down, and I had no problems braking from 100 to 45. Then they took out the chicaine and the braking zone went from 125 or 130 to 45 and the Porterfields over heated and disappeared in 10 minutes. So I decided to go all the way and got the BBK and Carbotech's. In hind sight, with the proper pads and cooling ducts the BBK wasn't necessary but after loosing my brakes trying to stop from 125 I decided not to wait for another potential near death experience. It all depends on the abuse. I can't see anyone having a problem at the dragon because the speeds are no that great. But I've never driven the dragon. You just need to be honest with yourself about how you use your car. And if you have the funds, a BBK looks killer.
