I just checked Mazda's website. You're right. 197hp in automatic trim. They were advertising projected hp of 280-300 early in the development, then 280, the 250, then 247, now 238 for the six speed and 197 for the auto. What a joke.

Hyundai did that with their 2.7 V-6 Tiburon. Rated it at 181hp, the dropped in to 170 in an "I'm sorry" letter offering an extra year of warranty. Who's keeping these mfg'ers honest?

Well I hope the Xfire is honest. They're already on the skinny side.
