PPD investigates recent burglaries
Parsons police are investigating nine burglary related crimes that occurred early Wednesday morning on the west side of Parsons.
Deputy Police Chief Scott Gofourth said no arrests have been made but officers have spoken with three suspects in the crimes and hope to interview a fourth and possibly seek charges. The suspects range in age from 16 to 21.
The burglaries occurred in the 2500 block of Washington, the 2300 and 2400 blocks of Clark, the 2400 block of Crawford and the 2200 block of Stevens.
Two homes were broken into, one of them with the family sleeping inside. Five detached garages were broken into, and three vehicles received damage either independently or during a burglary.
An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the home in which the family was sleeping. Officers are still working on the reports, so additional information was not available.
“We’re still investigating,” Gofourth said.
Persons with information on the crimes may call the police department at 421-7060 or the tip line, 421-7057.
