Default Re: Just starting out

My suggestions, ask the guy you bought it from if he replaced the intercooler pump yet. If he did and rep;aced it with the factory part, get another one and go ahead and seperate the cooling systems. In ours, the intercooler which cools the supercharger is also connected to the engines radiator. This just ensures the intercooler never really cools down as much as it could seperated and heat will not just slow you down a bit, but drastically by shutting off your supercharger and going into limp mode. That is less of a mod and more of a cheap necessary fix for these cars(the IC pump at least). Now I am far from the mod expert, especially since I am new too, but I have probably logged 100 hours or more on here reading and catching up. When it comes to mods, these cars are pretty simple when it comes to bang for the buck mods. There are 3 basic, simple and best bang for the buck mods. Then there is everything else that is gonna be expensive compared to the HP gains. If you are looking for quick and easy, get a S/C pulley, a tune and an intake. If you like doing things yourself or are on a budget, take your S/C pulley to a machine shop and have them reduce the size for you, the S/C pulleys work by adding boost because of higher revs from a smaller pulley. Build yourself an intake and last, but certainly not least, get a tune(dyno is best but not necessary). I like the idea of doing it all around the same time personally, so you see all the minor gains added up at once so to speak and feel more wow for your money. LOL If you've got a bit of cash, are short on time, or are not mechanically savvy though, just buy the stuff. LOL The tunes are a bit high IMO, but they are the most bang for the buck and if you will watch the forum and wait for a group tune, they will have a dyno available and get into the affordable range. I hope that helps and please keep in mind that I am no expert. That is just my advise.
