Was the key in the acc position? The throttle body will click and make a high pitch noise.
The air injection fan might also turn on.
More info please.
The key was off and I was sitting in the car for a while before I decided to go into work. It appeared the smoke was coming above the water pump area or just above it. I know the throttle body noise and it wasn't that kind of noise. When I went out to check on the car 4 hours later it started OK but would rev past 1,500 rpm so I reset the gas peddle and that took care of that problem.
I assure you that as much smoke and smell of smoke I was getting that I will have problems later.
Really wish I had more info to give you guys.
