Make sure the trunk partition is fully locked in position. If it slips even a little, the top won't go down. I've had to lift it up and pull it towards me to fully engage in the slots.
Thanks Goldwing, that's the first thing I checked. Did a visual on it, partitiion rod engages properly, you can hear the microswitch click. I'll do a continuity check on it. Probably not the problem, that would be way too easy!
