Default Re: SRT6 Advice

Welcome, Khotani !

A few short observations:

I recently sold my Harley Davidson and am looking for a car to replace it...it has to be a special car and fun to drive. Then you're looking in the right direction! Hands down, this is the most reliable, most fun & head-turning car I have ever driven. Remember too, that there are less than 3000 of these cars in existence worldwide & were made for only one year (with 16 '06's out there, if I remember correctly.)!

I was told about the Crossfire SRT6. Being there are no SRT6's in my area to test drive, I thought I would get advice from this forum. If at all possible, try to locate one within driving distance. The first Crossfire I test drove took me to a different state. It was a worthwhile drive.

All bias aside...what are the pros and cons of the car? There are many opinions available on this forum, both pro & con. Remember though, that in any forum ALL of the car's faults will be apparent. It's the nature of any forum to point out the flaws: all the problems are out there. That's what a good forum does. Don't let it sway your decisions; my car, a daily driver with roughly 86K on it, has been exceptionally reliable.

Does the car pose seating problems for people over 6' tall? Nope, 6 way seats are helpful.

Are Mopar Stage 1 & 2 kits available for the Crossfire? Don't know what those are BUT many modifications are possible including ECU tuning, CAI's, various supercharger pulley sizes, intake manifolds, etc.

Problems/concerns with unidirectional tires? Haven't ever used them - the weather in my home state make All-Season tires more practical. Lets say many choices are possible along with some excellent wheels. Just check your wallet first: a set of 4 tires, mounted, etc., will set you back nearly a grand.

Suggestions for modifications...if needed? Many might disagree but CAI first (single or dual's are available. Either works great but the duals look cooler!) followed by an ECU tune if it's gonna be a daily driver. Add a pulley next for extra fun though, in most cases, you'll need the ECU re-tuned.

Lastly, how do you rate this car in the areas of performance, oustanding for the cost. Nimble handling, excellent acceleration & superb braking.

ride, can be rough, especially over crappy pavement but not horribly so.

quality of construction, engine hand built (one engine - one tech.) & hand tuned. Features the Benz M112 E32AMG engine. Body tight & well-done. Interior could've used nice carbon-fiber or wood accent but all-in-all, it still works.

dependability Very!

and resale? Not so good- go figure. For a unique car such as this one it's a mystery to all owners!

Thanks for your help and advice. No problem! Do some serious searching around the forum. MANY questions similar to this have been posted before. You'll enjoy the read!
