When I was deployed to Afghanistan (3rd one), I had hopes of getting a new Caddy CTS. I came home on midtour leave, found one I loved, told the dealer I would hopefully be back after my full deployment was complete. Well when I got home I went straight to the dealership to pay cash for the vehicle I had "reserved". And what happened you may ask? The old bait and switch right then and there while I hadnt been back in the USA for more than 12 hours. Furious as I was, I let it go and chalked it up to fate. As I told my parents this, they suggested I drive their '04 xfire. As they say the rest was history. I ended up loving that car so much, I bought it from them that next week. Two years , and more than 30,000 miles later I am still superbly in love with this car. There IS nothing like this on the road; period. Only thing to do now is upgrade to an SRT-6. I do enjoy how well my NA handles and all, but as Ive read over and OVER on here, the power of the 6 is amazing. So if anyone out there is feeling like they are tired of their 6 (yea right haha), be sure and let me know!
