I just installed cool white LED bulbs on my car tonight. The problem is that my bulb out indicator is still on. I installed this resistor with it

It's a 25 watt, 25 ohm resistor and I put one on each light right after the socket. I first put them in line and that didn't work so I switched it and put them with one side of resistor on positive and one on negative and the light is still on. I then put the old bulbs back in and the light went out again so I am now lost. Any help would be appreciated
