If it's almost like a "POP" sound then it could be .....when the humidity (or after a rain or wash) is high....then after being in the garage all night a thin layer of rust forms on the rotors....as it breaks loose...you can hear a POP.....

Happens a few times a year to my 6 spd as I back out of the garage in the morning.
