Re: Car wash story

Robin: I chose the Crossfire about 6 years or more ago when i had my Sebring and saw a picture of the Crossfire prototype on the net....from a car show or something i think. It was umber sweet, and the production model didn't disappoint at all. Besides, i love having a car that no one else has in this city (same reason i chose the Sebring back in '96 when no one had one). well, almost no one...it took me 8 months, but i finally saw another roadster (aero blue) at the airport as i dropped my sister off. i was happy, i was sad...mostly i was just tired b/c it was 6 a.m.
I knew i was getting the Roadster even before i test drove it. The test drive was more a formality than anything else. i haven't regretted it a minute. i thought i'd get killed on insurance, but i actually pay the same for my '05 Crossfire with full replacement as i did for my old '93 Explorer with only liability coverage. that really shocked me and made the purchase that much easier. My old explorer still sits in the corner of the drive b/c as i found out, you just can't haul an entire set of drums and musical equipment around in the roadster! I'll suffer through i guess.
So, the bad news...some #@$)(*&$# lady in a Camry decided that her rear bumper and my passenger side door and quarter panel should meet. suffice to say, they didn't hit it off...to the tune of $1,700 in damage (replace door/remove, repair and paint quarter panel). The insurance adjuster for the lady told the dealer that they were only going to pay to "skin" the door (ie: remove the robotic weld and replace only the outer shell and then hand weld it back.). Having none of that, i told them i'd spend every last waking minute of my day in court with them if they chose to mess with me. I'm awaiting their reply, but the adjuster seemed a little put off at my reply. Sometimes it pays to be an attorney! LOL! But the Roadster comes through the battle tested and proven.
