Re: SRT6 or ?
You must like drag racing. Mustangs have very high final drives for acceleration at the cost of top end speed. Crossfires and most Mercedes' are much the opposite. It is very wierd to beat the same cars on the highway that smoked you off the red light 2 days ago, but its fun to top out higher than 3 and 4 hundred horsepower cars with a 215 hp 2-seater. I recently detuned my limiter and just barely nosed over 170mph on the gps with a stock N/A. A week later, just over 175 with the only difference being racing fuel. Both records took a while and she made it clear she had nothin more left. (Will try to upload the pics soon) But as a cost, our 0-60 time is a modest 6 seconds. Crossfires will also out-handle any Mustang in a heartbeat. The moral of all this is that Crossfires and Mustangs are total opposites and it will be a very different feeling for you to get used to. If you love V8's so much and you have 15-20k to spend, then go get an N/A for 11-13K and put a Mercedes V8 in for 3-5K. Then you'll be at 14-18K Total. From what threads I've seen on here, the swap is fairly easy since everything's similar and the guy who's done it on here has walked cars with 6-digit pricetags.Talk to LantanaTX and tell him you're story. He can tell you much more than I can. I'm starting to do a V8 swap myself. The ceremonial start of the process will be the removal of the hood and the main event of my 20th Birthday party this Sunday.
