NEWB - I've only had my Xfire for two months, and mine is the 6 speed base model (2005), which comes only with a manual transmission. I have driven a stick for 32 years. This car shifts as easily as any I've ever driven, but is it the first sports car I've owned. I shift based upon engine sound, which is usually just about 3000 rpm's. Before purchasing my Xfire, I test drove a 2004, which was automatic, and I liked the drivability of the manual over it. But, that's just my opinion, TIFWIW.
