If you don't cut them deep enough you will be applying voltage to other parts of the board that normally don't have voltage (other relays get energized).
The car will not start and I believe the fan will turn on.
Found this all out by mistake when I didn't make my cuts deep enough on my first try.
At least that's what I recall...

That's why I was wondering if someone tried the MSH mod. Just guessin' and tryin' ta help!
