Back in the day when I fabbed up the super cooler, I did not add an additional tank and have been street and track driving it for a bout 2+years. The expansion is very minimal as the fluid does not heat up that much and the air at the top of the cooler is enough to adsorb the 'extra' fluid.

I want to suggest that yall read my posting about going to a +20 degree antifreeze mixture to have more water content and about 20% more heat transfer capacity. In my garage it never gets to 20 when VA gets into the single digits and - temps overnight. At least for the summer more water does the trick as long as you add rust preventative/ water pump additive. Below 50% antifreeze can promote rusting of steel surfaces.
