I do really hope that the paint work can end up being a dead ringer match though as this color I think will really show the difference if not done right.
IMHO, their is really no excuse for any modern body facility to not provide you with a perfect paint match. The industry has come a long way with the help of computers that include using hand held scanners that will take a "picture" of the paint and come up with a matching paint code. This was done for an old Volvo of mine that is entered in Concours d' Elegance competitions, when having my rear quarter panels painted. The result was spot on. Also, the paint manufacturers provide paint codes that take into account the age of the car and the inherent sun fade.
Both front and rear bumpers on my Crossfire were recently painted (rid of stone chips) and the shop I used was highly recommended and sure enough, the color match was perfect. I have the same color as you, SSB (Sapphire Silver Blue). So be optimistic Rudy, your newly repaired and painted fender should end up being a perfect match with the rest of the car. Anything less is unacceptable in today's paint industry....
