Default Not a kill...but just for funsies :)

So I went down to the local 1/8 mile track for one of my last weekends of racing (until Wavetrac time)...and in pulls a 2010 GT-R. Now normally in my experience, the owners of these cars have been some very nice, knowledgeable, approachable people. This one however, wasn't. (Such a shame because it was pearl white, my favorite color). You'd figure he was a vette owner.

On to the story! Everyone wanted to see what this GT-R had, and it delivered, 7.77 two times in a row, (for reference for DA purposes, my SRT with a 178 pulley and NW dual CAI, no tune run's 8.45's out there on a decent no burnout launch). This guy was very upset that he was not even a "whole second faster" A second is a pretty good stomping in my opinion but whatever....anywho, long story short, GT-R turns off his launch control, tries to do a burnout, and get's a 7.6 something. For the low, low cost of:

Destroyed tranny, with VDC off : $30k
Burnt clutch: at least a couple grand
No more warranty

While I still pulled an 8.4. Needless to say, he was not a happy guy.

So what have we learned?

- GT-R's are fast, but if modded we can play with them, and if heavily modded we can win.
- Don't assume the way someone will act by the type of car they drive (The Vette thing was a joke)
- If the factory says "SERIOUSLY, NEVER, EVER, EVER DO THIS"....don't do it unless you know WHY you're doing it.

I'll try to dig up a video i have of it destroying some prostock car.
