When you make reservations at the lodge, they charge your credit card for one night immediately, then mail the reservation letter to your house. After Gary posted the reminder, I realized I never received a conformation in the mail. Then I checked my CC statement, and no charges where found. So I called and no reservations were made. I always make the next reservation when I check out that morning. This happened in the spring also, I should have been on top of this better.
