Use a fleece filter, it is bright white in appearance and made from fibre glass and not the color of the paper one in the photo below.
Remove the drain plug with the engine warm, not too hot. Getting burnt by hot oil is painful and can do severe damage to your skin.
Remove the old filter cap while the oil drains and remove the old filter and the four O-rings. Take note of how far the filter is pushed into the filter housing.
Install the new filter and install the four new O-rings, with a spot of oil on each, as shown below.

Using the filter installation tool (MB#105 589 02 09 00 or equiv.) tighten to 18 ft.lbs.
Install the drain plug using a new crush washer (14 mm) if possible and tighten to 22 ft.lbs.
Fill the engine with the new oil and reset the FSS on the dash.
Install the splash shield and tighten the bolts to 5 ft.lbs.
