Granted the Crossfire probably makes the better driver, but the S2K is the better performer. I never really had a mechanical problem with my s2k. And they spent under well under 2 grand for 2 sets of tire and a brake job for the evo. And then 3 grand to Vishnu for performance modifications, The grand total they put into it was around 5k. Not 10k. I have 1200 dollar wheel setup on my crossfire just so I can drive it in chicagoland snow. Don't forget the Crossfire needs 100 dollar oil changes. They are both pricey to maintain. I remember the EVO needing tires after 10K, diff fluid changes every 15K and brakes after 15-20K and that was $1K at the dealership (turn all rotors and all new pads) Now I know the EVO is a "no holds barred" perf car and comparing it to the Crossfire is just silly IMO. Even comparing our car to the Z, S2000 and RX-8 is silly as those cars are geared more towards perf rather all around like our car. That being said, I wished I'd checked out the used EVOs in our area.
