Check and make sure the unit is grounded correctly because sometime units arent grounded correctly and draw off of the antenna wire for the ground and make sure the AMP wire/power antenna is hooked up correctly..did you use butt style connectors or crimp caps? because sometime if butt connectorss are crimped too hard they cut the wire and therefore there isn't a connection
