The stock muffler is an offset-to-center-exit design. If you have an exhaust shop cut off your stock muffler, they'll most likely need to custom fit new exhaust pipe to support the replacement muffler either way (as well as add new hangers) so you can change it to center-to-center-exit or however you want to.
