Re: Started my audio project posting pics along the way.
Id show you how i mounted them but it would be kinda hard to take them back out but ill try to Explain. The factory subwoofer mount has two parts the frist is a vent thats facing incabin and the othere, which is snapped into the vent part is the 6.5in mount for the subwoofer facing to the trunk or the gas tank. Now what i did was take the 6.5in mount part off and disgarded them. Since the vent part can be mounted by it self. I cut a 6in circle with a dremal tool out of the 4X6? vent. and used some bolts with nuts on the end to secure the new speaker to the newly cut 6in hole. I had to first mount the vent part to the frame and then slide the blots through the back of the vent part, so that the threads are facing outwards. then they kinda look like wheel studs with the rim off a normal car. Then i cut the carpet also to make a 6in circle and slide the speaker into the bolts and on top of the carpet. Twisted the nuts on and cut off the excess bolt with the dremal tool. P.S when I had to drill holes in the vent part to match the holes in my 6in kicker speaker so the bolts would line up. I know that all sounds complicated but its just hard to explain
