You may actually have nailed the problem. I hadn't even though of this, but the only other bolt-on kompressor kit for the N/A (Kleemann) completely does away with the butterfly intake system. In its place is a belt-driven kompressor, flipped upside-down of the AMG layout, with the intercooler on top and the intake runners coming directly off that system, into the heads.

To achieve your full boost potential, you may need to switch to a short runner intake... might have adverse effects on torque.
