Question Occasional burning smell when idling or upon turning off

I have an 06 Roadster limited with 40k miles on it. I have driven it for 4k miles of the 40k and it has been great. However, it has recently developed this "burning" smell upon idling or turning off the engine. It is not a consistent smell, but when your 15 year old daughter asks what is burning when driving with the top down or getting out when parked, something must be wrong. I am a car guy, so the car is well maintained, up to date on everything, fluids are full and fresh, no leaks-nothing on the block or driveway, etc...

I am really not sure where to look next, but the smell leads me to believe "something" is not right. Help from anyone who has had a Crossfire and experienced this would be great.

Thank you,
